I played for William Tennent from 83-85. I love the new uniforms. They are totally different from ours back then. When I first started to play we had the word Tennent on the side and in the last year we had a panther paw. Congrats to your last season championship. I do see there are teams now you play that I have never seen before, but I havent lived there in a while. And we had a dissadvantage of having to play the number one team in the country every year Central Bucks West. Good luck team!

TIM MAHONEY 2003 TENNENT GRADUATE - WTHS FOOTBALL #31: Our own Tim Mahoney is attending Lycoming College and starting as a strong safety. Tim is a 2003 graduate Tennent Alumnist. Below is an article excerpted from The Williamsport Sun-Gazette from Friday, September 16th., 2005. If you would like to contact Tom Mahoney, his info is below the following article:
By GUY CIPRIANO Sun-Gazette Staff
Two things about a high school game three years ago are stall stuck in Tim Mahoney's mind. "Our quarterback threw six picks," said Mahoney, who played at William Tennent High School. Then, there was this 6-foot-l tight end from Boyertown his coaches had him shadow. "He was a good athlete," Mahoney said.
A year later, Mahoney and Ryan Repko were freshmen at the same college. Two years later, they were absorbing information from one of the beat safeties in the college's history. Three years later, they are the starting safeties for a Lycoming team that begins an important stretch of its schedule Saturday at Widener. The game will bring Repko, Mahoney and dozens of other Warriors back to southeastern Pennsylvania. It's a real Homecoming," Mahoney said. "There's a lot of pressure."
Maybe no two players will be feeling as much pressure as Mahoney and Repko, a pair of juniors playing one of the most important positions. Both players became full-time starters this year and they are responsible for making on-field defensive calls and reads. Calls and reads are especially important this week because some big passing plays have allowed Widener (0-1) to win four of its last five games against Laming (1-0).
"Safety is such an important position in our scheme of things," coach Frank Girardi said. "Those guys have to really concentrate. They can't mate mistakes back there," Although they have played together once, Mahoney and Repko have the makings of a solid duo. With Repko at free safety and the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Mahoney at strong safety, the Warriors held Juniata quarterback Jay Leonard to 36 passing yards during last week's 35-0 victoiy Leonard's longest completion was just 16 yards and he threw more interceptions (four) than completions (three). A confidence-building performance should benefit Repko and Mahoney, who are surrounded by experienced cornerbacks, linebackers and defensive linemen. The Warriors' only major defensive losses to graduation were free safety Brian Kaspick, a four-year starter, and strong safety Nick Pinto, a starter as a junior and senior.
Defensive coordinator Steve Wiser and defensive backs coaches Rich Zalonis and Jerry Girardi started grooming Repko for aa eventual starting role as a freshman, and he started two games last year because of injuries to Kaspick and Pinto. That playing time combined with solid games against Widener the past two years made Repko a logical choice to replace Kaspick.
"Not only was it helpful watching him, but he knew the defense, and anything you asked, he knew," said Repko, who scored a defensive touchdown in a victory over Widener two years ago. "He basically taught me the whole defense and that makes it easier. I know everything about the defense." Mahoney's development was slow than Repko's. He played sparingly the past two seasons as a back-up safely and linebacker. Mahoney said there were discussions about a full-time move to line-backer, but the Warriors were deep at the position with starters Kevin LeSage and Luke Sterling returning.
Strong safety represented Manoney's best chance at earning a starting spot Repko and junior Matt Murdock, who the coaches wanted to use at cornerback, were the only players '-'who entered preseason camp, with experience at safety." Knowing he had a chance to become a starter, Mahoney used the off-season to improve his speed and footwork. Once camp started, multiple coaches monitored his progress. "I came into camp really nervous," he said. The nerves eventually settled and Mahoney made his first career start against Juniata. His highlight came when he intercepted an over-the-middle pass by Leonard on the fourth play of the second half. "He did a good job all camp," Repko said. "He got in shape over the summer and he came in ready to play. He's making great hits and that's why they are playing him at strong safety."
